Alienated Grandparents

Donation protected
My name is Tami. I'm an Alienated Grandparent and I am a mother that lost my only daughter in Dec. 2012 to a pulmonary embolism at the age of 27.  Her baby was only 22 months old. My daughter lived in an apartment on my property
with her baby and her baby's father. Rent free. When she passed away I asked my grandchild's father to remain living in the apartment so that my grandchild would continue to be a part of my life.  I kept my granddaughter everyday while he worked. Babysat on weekends whenever asked. I kept her overnight during the 2015-2016 school year to take her to preschool, and brought her back to my home until her dad arrived home from work.  She would see him a few hours and come back for bedtime. I played games with her, read books, baked cookies,  gardened together.  I attended every preschool event. I cared for her and loved her with all my heart.

In 2017 I asked her dad to move out. He was becoming increasingly rude and difficult to get along with.
He gave her to his parents to be a weekend child, 40 miles away, to go to school. I still went to every feild trip and won the most involved " parent award" at year's end. For a year I only saw her for a few hours a week.  I drove back and forth totalling 350 miles per week to see her. She is my only family. My love for her is as deep as the love I still hold in my heart for my daughter.
After being in her life nearly full time for 5 1/2 years, they moved. And then I was all of a sudden unfit to see my grandchild.

I went to court in 2018 and won grandparent visitation that has been ignored by her father.  I went back to court and won that he was in contempt of court.  Nothing changed.  I have since read that contempt in Indiana is NOT ENFORCEMENT.  Family law needs a good kick in pants because I am only one of countless grandparents that are not seeing their grandchildren due to being punished by their grandchildren 's parents.

If you read this far,  I applaud you.
I've spent nearly $7000.00 ...
And I am still not seeing my precious granddaughter.  I've learned alot and probably have more lessons to go in the pursuit of what should be an effortless and fundamental family tradition,  let's go see Grandma and Grandpa. It's the way my daughter lived. She named her daughter after her 2 grandmothers.  Grandparents are special in the lives of children.  But we live in times separation and lack of empathy. I pray for us all...
Grandparents, grandchildren,  and their parents.

Please help me hire a different lawyer to take him back to court again. I now know to seek enforcement. It's not a lost cause, it's our family law system at work.  I'll do whatever takes to be in her life.  Any small amount that you can give will help.

God bless you.
