Alicia's Brain Surgery - Journey to Healing
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Alicia.
I am a single Mama of two beautiful boys who have been very understanding of my sruggles and limitations through our journey together...
Two years ago I woke up unable to get out of bed. I had immeasurable nerve pain, paresthesia, neuropathy, grip weakness, crushing headaches, unsteady gate, and was unable to use my hands or arms. My hands were so contracted that I found myself unable to tie my shoes, zip my children's backpacks, or even brush my hair which had begun falling out. Walking had become a chore as I could not feel my feet and both my legs and feet were not moving properly.
I am headed for neurosurgery for my Chiari 1 Malformation. It has been a long journey of relentless pain, immobility, doctors appointments, PT, MRI's and endless missed activities. Chiari Malformation is a Rare Condition for which there is no cure. It touches every aspect of my life as well as those around me. The only hope for resolving debilitating symptoms is surgery. I have battled with this condition for two years. It has prevented me from being able to engage in every day activities. I have been unable to work and my bills have become overwhelming.
It is my hope that I will come out of this surgery stronger than ever. I am ready to get back into life. I am not one to ask for help so this is very hard for me. I sincerely appreciate all of the love, prayers, understanding, and support from everyone. You all have given me the strength and persistence to fight for myself to find an answer to my medical crisis. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to have corrective surgery.
If you are able to give monetary assistance at this time it would mean the world to me and my family. Even a small donation would be of great help. It will alleviate a lot of the pressure of my current financial situation. If you are unable to donate, it would be fantastic if you could share this fundraiser link and help to spread the word. I am praying that all will go well and I will be able to get back to work soon. I still have a long road ahead of me but there is hope in sight.
Thank you all again for all of your love and support.
Love and Light,
Alicia
