Alexis Pritchard: A Little Help for a Big Heart

My name is Ashlee Vitz, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for my dear friend Alexis Pritchard.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Alexis for many summers at Crossroads Repertory Theatre. She is an alumnae of the Indiana State University theatre program, has worked in the costume department for years, and will start in August as the Costume Shop Supervisor for ISU! She is one of the most lively, vivacious, and talented women I’ve ever met. She’s also one of the hardest workers I know—someone who brings energy, humor, and heart wherever she goes.

Today, Alexis is facing a significant medical challenge. She has two tumors growing in her uterus, one already the size of a golf ball. This isn’t the first time she’s been through this; her last tumor was the size of a tangerine and left her with thousands in out-of-pocket costs even after insurance.

Doctors have determined that Alexis needs a hysterectomy to prevent this from happening again. Her surgery is scheduled for July 21st, and she will be out of work for at least a month—two weeks of full recovery, followed by two weeks before she’ll be able to work to her full capacity.

Her biggest immediate concern is being able to cover her basic expenses—Rent ($475) and her car payment ($279)—while she heals.

Alexis never hesitates to step up and help others, and now I hope we can rally around her. Every donation, no matter the size, will help relieve the burden of worrying about losing her housing or transportation as she recovers.
