Some of you may have already heard about Alexis’ recent diagnosis. In January, Alexis went to the doctor because she had a suspicious lump on her collarbone that would not go away. It appeared a little after Thanksgiving so she waited to see if it would subside and when it didn’t, she went and got an ultrasound. After numerous doctor appointments over the span of 3 weeks, she received the unfortunate news that the lump on her neck was a swollen lymph node due to her having Stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This specific blood cancer attacks your white blood cells which then attacks lymph nodes all over your body. Thankfully, the doctors have caught it early enough, but she still needs to undergo 12 rounds of chemotherapy (ABVD) for 6 months starting February 17th at Cedars Sinai. Alexis currently lives in Los Angeles where she will be receiving treatment from numerous physicians that she has built a strong relationship with, however her family still resides in her hometown of Tampa, FL. She is currently finishing school online at the University of Central Florida and is set to graduate in August. She is going to practice eastern medicine along with the chemo to assure she heals quickly. She will have a completely plant based diet as well.
