Alexa's Be Thankful Turkey Trot-Mitzvah Project

My Bat Mitzvah is May 1, 2021 and as a part of that great tradition, I will be doing a Mitzvah Project. A Mitzvah is a good deed that people do with no expectations of receiving anything back. I have been very moved over the last few years to help others dealing with homelessness and hunger.
For the last five years, my family has had a "Be Thankful Turkey Trot" where we walk or run one mile and raise money for different organizations each year at Thanksgiving. This year Thanksgiving and the holiday season looks a lot different for most of us and while I would love to have you all join us for our walk this year, it is not something that would be a good idea at this time due to Covid. What is important though, is that you enjoy your time with your families and we can still all do good together.
This year for Thanksgiving and throughout the holiday season, I hope to raise even more money for PROJECT HOME as the start of things I will be doing in the upcoming months. I will be out there doing my mile run with my family and hope you might too. Even if walking or running isn't your thing, take the time this holiday week or throughout December to do something fun and special with your family or friends. When you do, take a picture and send it to me. It can be a family walk, playing a game, enjoying a meal together, hiking...anything. I will make a video with everyone included. You are all the people I am thankful for and whether we are together or not, this can be very meaningful.
Please consider making a donation as you spend time with someone you care about or do something active. This will all go to PROJECT HOME as they continue to work to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty by providing shelter, food, classes and support.
