Alderney Bird Observatory Fundraising Appeal
Donation protected
Alderney Bird Observatory was established by volunteers in 2016, and each year since our monitoring efforts have returned a wealth of ornithological data on bird migration.
Sadly, in 2020, the Covid-19 travel ban has crushed our income for the year, and as a charity we are now in desperate need of financial support to see us through this autumn. Whilst we have no paying guests, and no income, our research does need to continue. Uninterrupted research is essential for obtaining accurate data, and this data, which shows evidence of species in serious decline, can make a pivotal contribution to future conservation programmes. The ornithological databases that we contribute to are used at the highest levels of government to decide environmental policy.
Please help us ensure that our efforts to highlight the issues facing our bird populations can continue, giving the birds we love the best chance of protection right now, and in the future once we are all safely through this crisis.
