BE Connect thanks all that gave during this fundraiser. Through your generosity, we were able to provide housing and comfort for 20 families who would have been without during this holiday season.

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of homeless families continues to rise in the US, greatly affecting our Charlotte area communities. A major factor in the increase of homelessness is due pandemic related loss of employment. HEAL CHARLOTTE has recently deployed a “Rapid Rehousing Program” that is in partnership with the Baymont Inn to provide temporary housing to those families facing this Holiday Season at risk of being without a home. This program serves as a transition to permanent housing. Families will also be enrolled into the HEAL A Home Program which will assist them in securing permanent housing.
In an effort to combat this growing trend, BE Connect is striving to raise $5,000 to support the families in Heal Charlotte’s Rapid Rehousing Program.
Please join BE Connect in showing Charlotte and surrounding areas that Albemarle Cares for the Community. The fundraiser will be open until December 21st to allow us time to provide the support prior to the holiday.

Heal Charlotte is embarking on a $10M capital campaign to reclaim Reagan Drive in the name of the community. The campaign has two parts real estate acquisition/ development and operational support.
Heal Charlotte is expanding its commitment to community revival by acquiring and redeveloping an area motel for $5M. We will convert the existing rooms into 1- & 2-bedroom transitional living apartments. The Heal Charlotte Campus will become a permanent safe space for our families to fellowship and act as a haven for those most vulnerable in our community. We will convert the 137-room motel into a transitional living facility. The rooms will be updated and modernized a be able to accommodate families in need of 1-2 bedrooms. The rent for our units will be on average $500. The campus will feature a community café, event space, and entrepreneurial co-working offices.
We have seen the impact our programs have had on families and the community. We have reduced crime by 15%, prevented evictions, distributed more than 25,000 meals, and sent students to college. $5M will mean long term stability and infrastructural support for the organization.
