Help Our Families Flee War and Live Safely

A Story of Loss, Resilience, and Hope

My name is Bara, and my partner's name is Amer. Two years ago, we launched our first startup with a mission to help people find their passion in life, especially Gaza's young people struggling to navigate the harsh realities they face. We poured our hearts and souls into building our dream, securing funding, and preparing to pitch our startup in France and Morocco. We were on the cusp of something incredible, our lives filled with hope and excitement for the future.

Then, everything changed.

War's Devastating Impact

The recent war in Gaza plunged our lives and the lives of our families into darkness. We lost our startup and our funding, and our office got bombardment, rendering us unable to continue working on our dream. The basic necessities we once took for granted – electricity, water, internet, even food – became scarce and difficult to obtain

The war's impact on our families was even more devastating. My family (Bara Adwan) suffered the unimaginable loss of seven members in a bombing on December 1st. Our house was partially destroyed, and my uncle's house was completely obliterated. My father, a 47-year-old man, lost his brother, his brother's son, and five other family members, including three innocent children under the age of five.

We are now living in our small, damaged house with 25 other displaced people we welcomed in. We struggle with meager amounts of water, no electricity, and no cooking gas. Cooking becomes a daily ordeal, requiring us to build fires and forage for scarce food.

Amer's family has also endured unimaginable hardship. They were forced to flee their home in Khan Younis under the threat of tanks and incessant bombardment. Amer lost his father, the family's sole breadwinner and only man. His two sisters' apartments were completely destroyed, forcing them to flee south to Rafah.

Amer lost not only his own home but also his sisters' homes and, tragically, three cousins in the past three weeks. His family now lives in a tent under harsh conditions, lacking running water, electricity, or secure food. They rely on humanitarian aid, like most Gazans, and spend their nights desperately trying to prevent rain from leaking into their flimsy shelter

Amer has a large family with many sisters who require constant protection and care.

A Desperate Plea for Help

We have waited patiently for the war to end and for things to improve, but with no end in sight, we have made a difficult decision. We can no longer live in Gaza, nor can we bear to see our families suffer any longer. We feel a deep responsibility to ensure their safety and well-being, and we believe the only way to achieve this is to leave Gaza.

That's why we created this campaign. We are raising funds to evacuate our families to Egypt, a place offering a glimmer of hope and stability. However, the cost of escape is high, hence our crowdfunding appeal.
