So those of you who know me well know I hate asking for help and wouldn’t be unless it was dire.

My dad (Thor) has the dreaded Alzheimer’s disease and is having a really tough time lately to say the least. This is not an easy thing to do or handle. I just need a little help. Unfortunately insurance doesn’t cover much.

He was recently hospitalized with Anaplasmosis which is a tick borne illness and then developed Sundown Syndrome from being there. If you’re not familiar Sundown Syndrome is when people literally lose their minds because they’re in a confined place and away from home. It gets worse at night hence the name.

He’s home now but still has Sundowns and has become very hard to handle.

He doesn’t know who we are most of the time and doesn’t think he’s home and all he wants is to GO HOME. The doctors keep saying he should get better from this Sundown Syndrome in a couple months and we’re praying that happens!!

He’s also gotten aggressive with us at times. I would love to have a nurse come in at night to help but of course insurance doesn’t cover that. I also have been unable to work full time because I’m needed at home to help care for him and since my fiancé passed away from cancer things have been tight.

Putting dad in a home would literally be a death sentence for him so this is our lives now. I would do anything for my parents and I’m trying my hardest to make this work.

Anything would help, I just need to get past this and hopefully that will be sooner than later.
