Aid Schelley and Family in Their Cancer Battle
Spende geschützt
It is with a heavy yet hopeful heart that I share some difficult news about my sister, Schelley. After a recent ER visit for what she thought was a gallstone flare-up, she received the diagnosis no one ever wants to hear: cancer. Following extensive testing, we learned she has stage 4 ovarian cancer with metastasis to her abdomen and lymph nodes.
Our family is naturally private, but we’ve come to realize that setting up a GoFundMe could provide much-needed support during this overwhelming time. Along with her diagnosis, Schelley also recently learned that her employer of over 75 years in business will be closing its doors, leaving her without a job—and, come January 1st, without health insurance.
This is devastating for her family, who are still recovering from the financial strain of her being out of work for over a year with a company she gave more than 30 years to. Now, instead of focusing solely on her recovery, Schelley faces the additional weight of financial uncertainty.
If you feel moved to help this incredible family this holiday season, we would be deeply grateful. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. And if you’re unable to give financially, please share my cause, and provide your prayers and positive thoughts for Schelley, her husband Patrick, and their daughter Sophia. This would truly mean the world to us.
At a later date in December, I will plan to setup a meal train for the weeks she will be having chemo infusions at Northwestern Medical Cancer Center. Those days will be especially emotional and physically demanding of her.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and support during this trying time
