Mildred's Path to Recovery Needs Your Support

My name is Mildred Rodriguez, and I live in Port Saint Lucie, FL. Back in January, I was in a car accident. As a result, I had two compression fractures in my back. I had surgery and physical therapy. I was discharged from the rehabilitation hospital on Thursday, June 19th, to my house, with a referral for home health services (home health aide and physical therapy) in order to regain my independence, since I'm bedridden and totally dependent.

Although I have health insurance, I still have medical bills that weren't covered, which I'm unable to pay. Also, there's a dispute between the health insurance and the home health agency. As a result, I'm not receiving the services that I need in order to regain my independence (physical therapy and home health aide).

Currently, I've been paying a caregiver out of pocket (my funds are severely depleted and soon I will run out of money) with a schedule in the late morning and in the evening. I have to hold my bowel movements at night because if I go to the bathroom, I have to wait more than 8 hours to be changed. As a result, I have developed diaper rash. My family and friends are not able to help me.
