Help Jordan Heal: Support Needed After Major Open-Heart Surgery
Hi everyone,
I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my cousin Jordan, who is currently recovering from major open-heart surgery that included a septal myectomy, mitral valve replacement, and unroofing of a myocardial bridge. This was a life-saving procedure—one that has completely changed the rhythm of his life.
Jordan is now on lifelong blood thinners (Coumadin) and must have his INR levels checked frequently to stay safe. Unfortunately, insurance has denied coverage for home health services, so he must travel in person for blood draws and follow-up care.
To make this recovery even more difficult, Jordan lives on the third floor of a building with no elevator, which makes it physically unsafe and nearly impossible for him to be at home right now. Thankfully, his incredible mom (my aunt) has been staying in a hotel near the hospital, acting as his full-time caregiver and ensuring he isn’t alone through this vulnerable time.
Just recently, Jordan’s defibrillator shocked him twice in one day, leading to a terrifying emergency ER visit, activation of a crash cart team, and another emotional blow in an already exhausting journey. He needs continued monitoring and access to urgent care—he simply can’t be far from the hospital yet.
This fundraiser will help cover:
• Hotel expenses for Jordan’s mom to stay nearby
• Transportation to labs and medical appointments
• Daily living and recovery expenses
• Lost wages and support needs while his mother cares for him full-time
This has been a physically, emotionally, and financially draining experience for their family, and they could use the support of friends, loved ones, and kind-hearted strangers now more than ever.
If you can donate—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you’re unable to, please share this with your network and keep Jordan and his mom in your thoughts and prayers.
With gratitude,
Nikole
