Aid Jeremy Barwick's Post-Hurricane Relief

My name is Bill Phillips and I am making this GoFundMe for my Grandson, Jeremy Barwick because he had issues resulting from Hurricane Milton.

Jeremy is stationed in Tampa with the US Army. He purchased a home and lives off base. His Grandmother was at his house watching his 8 year old daughter (who he has custody of) while he was away. She and Jeremy's daughter evacuated back to Lake City. He was on a training deployment in Alaska when Hurricane Milton was forecasted to hit the west coast of Florida. Jeremy left Alaska and headed to Hawaii on a continuing, training deployment. He was there when Hurricane Milton struck. Jeremy's backyard was completely flooded as well as his den and garage. He has lost his brand new washer and dryer that were in the garage as well as his deep freezer. He also lost both generators he had in the garage (he was prepared somewhat). And also had water damage to the inside of his car because of rising waters. Because of the power outage, he has lost all of the food that was in both (still out of power as of today 10-14-24).

Jeremy did not have any flood insurance because he was not in the zoned area required to have it. So he can't claim this on his insurance. Jeremy is still on the training deployment for a couple more days. Who knows what he will come back to then.

Jeremy has always been a "giver". As a child, he wanted to make sure everyone else was taken care of before himself. With his Eagle Scout Project, he wanted to fill the food pantries in our area, and did so - raising 33 tons of non-perishable food in 24 hours. Jeremy continued his love of being in uniform and helping others by joining the Lake City Police Department Explorer Program. Jeremy decided that he wanted to continue serving and joined the United States Army. He has been stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McCord and now at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa.
