This morning, Friday July 4th at approximately 6 AM my mother Christina Acevedo and her partner, Leo Marshall, abruptly woke up in their apartment to a window shattering and knee deep water. They quickly managed to grab their two cats and break a window to evacuate and tread water to safety, but not before their entire life’s belongings were engulfed in water. Not only was their entire apartment flooded, their jeep was also swept away in the current. They unfortunately lost everything in the blink of an eye. My mother has lived in that very apartment for 15 years and currently works from home for the VA Medical Center. Leo also works for the VA as a registered nurse taking care of veterans daily. Both have lost all of their equipment and bare necessities and have to start from scratch.
My mother has lived in Kerrville for over 30 years and has helped so many people in their time of need so you are able to, please consider donating to them as they had to leave without any clothes or shoes on their feet or simply share this post to spread the word. Please contact myself Miranda Acevedo for donations or go straight to this GoFundMe link thank you.
