Aid for a 91 year old in need

Mrs. Laura Baker is 91 years old and lives in a rundown apartment with her dog.  She was widowed in her thirties with two small children.  One of her children has died and the other is estranged.  She has been living in the same apartment for 31 years, which is now bedbug and roach-infested.  We had an exterminator come in to spray but the bugs came right back.  The carpet is so filthy that when they come to shampoo it, the machine just swirls the dirt around and dry into mud.  The management refuses to give her new flooring after 31 years.  I often take her food, clothing, and linens.  I often check on her because she does not like to bother anyone so at times she will go without eating to purchase other items she may need.

She prays that one day she would have her own place or get to move to a better place but her monthly social security of $500 a month pays her rent of $395 per month.  She went without eating just to get a new mattress that is now bed bug infested.  Her bed linen is always filled with blood spots from being bitten by the bedbugs.

It would be nice for her to be able to move or have her own home before she leaves this world.  A one-bedroom apartment/home is all she needs for her and her little doggy.  A place she can truly call home without unwanted guest.  But she can’t afford it.

It would mean the world us if she could go to bed without being eaten by bugs and not see her suffer.  It touched my heart when I saw her crying when I mentioned that we may try GoFundMe.
