Alyssa's Post-Surgery Sepsis and memorial costs

Spende geschützt

Our daughter is special needs with diagnoses of CP, LGS, CVI, ONH, refractory epilepsy, OPCA, moderate hearing loss, g-tube dependent, non-verbal, and non-mobile. She had bad scoliosis which was affecting her quality of life (sciatic pain along with pressure wounds from the bones pushing on her skin), so we decided to do the back surgery to improve that. The surgery went fine. After surgery, she had a bowel movement that went under her bandages. The nurse tried to remove the feces with a q-tip, which compromised the wound vac, and unknown to us, feces got into the incision. We went home, and 3 days later, she was doing so poorly and had coffee ground substance coming out of her g-tube port. I got her into the ER, and they determined she was septic. She has now had about 15 procedures to clean out the bacteria and dead tissue. She will have a procedure every 3-4 days until the skin regrows and closes the wound. Due to the high amount of antibiotics she needs, it lowered her seizure threshold and caused her to go into status epilepticus, and she suffered cardiac arrest. It took them 30-40 min to get a pulse back. She is finally on the right side of things, but because of the severity of the wounds, she will need to be hospitalized for a total of approximately 2 months, possibly more. The coffee grounds were from a gastric bleed caused by the amount of stress her body was under. It has resolved but is at risk to come back if not watched closely.

I have had no income since May 31st, and even once she is discharged, it will be a few months before I can get an income started again. I hate asking for any help, but we need to be able to pay the bills and survive until then. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated. I will provide regular updates as I get them.

Any donation left over after we are financially back on our feet will be put towards equipment needed for Alyssa. Thank you in advance, and even if you can’t help financially, any share and prayers will be appreciated as well. ❤️

The beneficiary is her father.
