Aid Alison post Hurricane Helene

My name is Melanie and I am starting a GoFundMe on behalf of my sister, Alison Briar MacNeil. Things have been very weird and complicated here in Asheville, NC ever since Hurricane Helene hit our community.

In the week prior to the storm, Alison became unexpectedly unemployed. She has been working hard to find a new job and in the meantime, the bills are piling up. Her rent and utilities are past due. We have looked into rental assistance programs in our area and the waitlist has 400+ people on it.

In the wake of the storm, life has been difficult to navigate. This has caused a significant impact on her mental health. She has re-committed to her recovery journey, is 30 days clean, and is actively participating in 12-step meetings. She is working diligently to find gainful employment, but in the meantime, is at risk of losing her housing. We are turning to our community at this time to get support to prevent this from happening.
