Jeremiah 29:11 Ministry Trip

My name is Agnes Tucker and "Agnes" means "Purity or Pure." I love my name because it truly describes the real me. I was named after my beloved aunt who passed away in 2005. She was Ugandan and also my father's sister. I find my name cool because also Mother Theresa's name was Agnes and she also had ministries all over Africa but mostly in India. My dream is to follow in her foot steps and continue her mission, which was to help the poor.
I was born in July of 1996 in Uganda (Africa). I lived in Uganda for 14 years and I got adopted in 2010 into the Tucker family. During those 14 years I was in the orphanage with my two cousins, Ruth and Nathan, along with my biological brother Fred. My duty at that age was to be a mother to both my cousins and brother. I have faced life as an orphan; I know how it feels and that's why my heart was touched to make a difference and to touch an orphan's heart. And the way I chose to do that was to start a ministry called Jeremiah 29: 11.

Jeremiah 29:11 ministries is to help orphans in Africa. I was touched and so I opened my heart since I know how life as an orphan is like. I believe there should be No Orphans and with your help, we can all do it. This is a non-profit ministry which was inspired by a Bible scripture Jeremiah 29:11 because as for orphans in Africa or anywhere, we lose hope and we just need encouragement that we have a God, a Father who cares for us and who knows our destinations. We always need a shoulder to cry on and for someone to wipe our tears. We need a sign to show that God didn't abandon us.

Yes, I know this is bigger than me. But when God calls you to something this big, have no fears because He already has a plan for you and He is going to provide everything along the way.

In 2015 Jeremiah 29:11 took its first trip in June. We went to rural areas of Africa like Soroti and Mityana. We took donations like clothes and medical supplies in children’s villages. Places like Soroti most ministries don’t get a chance to go there because it’s way off the road and it’s far away from the city and everything. My team and I managed to get there and serve the Lord.

In 2016, the lord has a different mission for me. A mission to serve and encourage. I’m a college freshman at UNC Pembroke, and everybody knows how expensive college is and how stressful it is. After the last trip, my heart decided to focus on college and resume with my ministry after college when I have a real job and making enough money to support my ministry. Also when I am old enough to handle my own ministry, I mean how many children my age have a ministry?  But who was I Kidding, when God calls you to do His work, there is no such a thing as putting His mission for you second, you have to serve him first and in my life He will always be first. God wants me to go back this year not to DONATE but to SPEAK. He told me that all the things we give to orphans fade away, but there is nothing stronger than a word. He wants me to go speak and share my story and encourage the children and those that lost hope. He told to take the Bible as an example, we leave by His word and we meditate on it. Whenever we are in doubt or questioning anything especially our faith, we find encouragement in His word or even when we need hope. A word is something someone can hold on to. A word gives people hope and then when they learn the word, then they can teach the word. That’s why He was a teacher when He came in flesh. He encouraged His disciples to teach His word. And that’s what He has called me to do too. So please help me complete this mission. I plan to leave in June or July. Anything you give counts. And if you have a mission you think God is calling you to complete, don’t question yourself. No matter how big it is and how impossible it looks, I promise you He will be with you in each and every step of it.
