Our mother, Jennifer Shivel-Caperton suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in her sleep on June 30/July 1. She recently had surgery to remove what we suspect was advanced skin cancer, although the official diagnosis has not been verified yet. Her overall health was not great. She weighed less than 90 pounds and has had many recent hospitalizations.
She was only 58 years old, a mother of 5 children and multiple animals, a former RN, and a force to be reckoned with.
We all had complicated relationships with her, mainly for financial reasons, but we are all completely heartbroken over this loss. You only get one mother and she was ours.
Our mother was not great with finances, therefore she made no plans for emergencies and has zero money to her name. My siblings and myself are already overwhelmed with bills and student loans, so this is not only emotionally devastating, but financially. I’m asking for any help that you want to give. No amount is too small. I know times are very hard for almost everyone and I completely understand if you aren’t able to financially commit. Your thoughts and well wishes are enormously appreciated.
We are relieved knowing that she now gets to spend every day with her departed parents that she loved tremendously. Knowing that brings us peace.
