The African, Caribbean & Black Wellness Resource Centre (ACB) is fundraising for a much loved community centre in Ottawa/ Gatineau. Civil Unrest and the Covid Pandemic is impacting our already distressed communities of colour, presenting us with new challenges and a new economy. We are aiding the discovery of multiple pathways to financial independence and social freedom.
ACB is a nonprofit organization committed to educating, enriching, and empowering residents of Ottawa/Gatineau. A variety of educational, cultural and performing arts, programs, activities, and exhibits that promote awareness and raise the collective consciousness of ALL ethnicities to the rich and vibrant history, contribution, and culture of African, Caribbean & Black. The Centre will strengthen our community by fostering unity, self-determination, inclusivity, cooperative economics, collective work, and creativity.
The world has changed in a way that requires everyone to THINK like an entrepreneur. Participants will develop entrepreneurial skills, innovative mindset, be drivers of change and empowering the ACB community that will help them approach changing environments to live effective and successful lives. Also the ACB centre wil be dedicated to and for black focused services and programs to resolve systemic barriers and challenges within our community.
The ACB centre will facilitate in helping our youths to expand their creative minds, grow and share their business creativity, offer job training and counselling, collaborating and partnering with other oganizations, recreational services, health resources, career counselling, senior information sessions and solutions, mentoring, women support groups and programs, meeting spaces, workshops, financial services, legal services, new immigrant services and housing solutions faced in the ACB community.
Our focus, will be raising awareness within the ACB community to educate on mental and physial health issues as well as recognizing that we are in the International Decade for People of African Decent to achieve Recognition, Justice and Development by promoting respect, protection, human rights and fundamental freedoms to the ACB Ottawa/Gatineau community.
For the last year, we've been fundraising for this community centre, however we need your support in expanding the centre and to service particapants in the ACB community.
