Support Tammy's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Hello, Bonjour,

A few weeks ago, our friend Tammy, received a sudden and devastating breast cancer diagnosis. Multiple biopsies and tests revealed Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma that spread to her lymph nodes.

Some of you may know her from the film industry or from other aspects of her life journey. She is an active member of Teamsters Local 399, working as a location professional.

The past few weeks she has undergone numerous scans and have met with several specialists including Oncology, Surgery, and Reproductive Endocrinology. Tammy has a long and difficult treatment journey ahead of her which will include chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and hormonal therapy. This diagnosis has been devastating for her and her family, who remain overwhelmed and blindsided as they try to process the road ahead.

Tammy is a single mother who has been supporting herself since a 25-year marriage ended. Likewise, the recent 9-month industry strike has depleted her savings and left her without adequate unemployment benefits or health insurance. Despite being a strong, self-sufficient, and a principled worker-among-workers, she won’t be able to take a job until the treatment is successful and the healing process is complete, which could take at least a year.

Those of you who are lucky enough to know Tammy, you know how incredible she is. She is spontaneous, fun, kind-hearted, and always there to support the ones she loves while making those around her double over in laughter. We adore her and are hoping to help support her in any way we can, because she deserves it! If you can find it in your heart and pocketbook to help, please do so. We are certain Tammy would do the same for us if we were in her position.

Treatment will be costly, and any contribution made will go directly toward easing the financial burden for Tammy and her family.
