AED for Clermont's Watefront Park
Donation protected
Help the #SLAPPERS Donate an AED to Clermont's Waterfront Park!
Waterfront Park is a popular training destination for local and visiting athletes. It is also a popular family hang-out during the summer, holidays, and any beautiful day in Florida. We want every park user to be closer to help if anyone experiences Sudden Cardiac Arrest (among the leading causes of death in the United States. In fact, more than 350,000 people will suffer a cardiac arrest this year).
We were inspired by the local parkrun organization that donated the same AED to Lake Hiawatha Park in 2018 and by one of our own, Timothy Ettridge , who recently experienced a heart attack on the trail during training.
The Physio Control AED will be mounted on the lakeside of the bathroom building in an all-weather cabinet. The City has installed a camera that will have a view of the device at all times. An alarm is built-in to the cabinet to deter vandalism as well as alert bystanders that help is needed when activated.
While the #SLAPPERS are behind this donation to the city, we hope that everyone who uses and enjoys the benefits of Waterfront Park will help us raise the money to purchase and donate the device...and maybe help safe a life in the future!
