Stephens Journey

Stephen Doherty is a 26yr old local lad from here in Creggan, Derry a typical lad loved the gym and socialising, and worked hard, but sadly on March last year he was diagnosed with epilepsy  but shortly after this diagnosis , this was to lead to the discovery  of  a tumour in his brain.April 2021 began his chemo and radium which resulted in him needing kidney dialysis due to the effects of both treatments.Then came the devastating news in November that he now had testicular cancer, yet Stephen still stayed positive and kept going and pushed on with his treatments. sadly once again n December 2021 another devastating blow arrived, that he now had AML Acute Myeloid Leukemia, this news shattered him, but like his previous diagnosis he has just kept strong, positive and humble, not wanting any fuss, his main concern was his mum Jackie dad Tommy and Fiancee Chloe he wanted them all not to worry, all is going to be ok.Stephen just recently got engaged, an is also an avid Liverpool fan, not to mention one of the biggest inspirational lads I have ever met. As we all know these journeys can become financially and emotionally draining for families so hopefully we can support him in whatever means possible. This is Stephens story and he wants to reach out to anyone going through their own journey too...❤️YNWA❤️
