Adopt a Vet and Family for Christmas
Donation protected
This Christmas season, we are asking for help for an Army Veteran and his family living in the suburbs of Detroit. Ken spent five years in the Army and was deployed to Iraq where he spent almost a year and a half. Ken has since suffered with back issues and PTSD connected with his time in the service. Unfortunately, employers have not been willing to work around his medical issues. This combined with a fairly insignificant VA monthly compensation has led to a variety of financial challenges.
Ken's wife, Amber has dealt with a congenital condition throughout her life called Chiari Malformation. CM often causes chronic, debilitating migraines. They have been unable to afford a specialist due to insurance coverage and out of pocket cost.
Ken and Amber are the proud, supportive and very loving parents to 6... including two sets of twins! The children range between 15 and 9 years old. As you can imagine, this leads to significant challenges all year long, especially around the holidays.
We are looking for any support you are willing to help with. From clothes and toys for the children, pro bono medical help for both Ken and Amber, as well as help with household or car repairs.
We will continue to provide additional information over the next week.
Thank you all so much for your time to read this and we look forward to helping make this Christmas truly something special for Ken, Amber and family.
