WHO ARE WE?
We’re Lucas and Sarah. We are a wonderful mix of opposites; we love to travel but are homebodies, one is an introvert the other is an extrovert. We have been married for two years, live in Toronto, Ontario, and love it. We have both always wanted to adopt not knowing when, where, or how. Although there are a lot more questions with adoption, one thing we do know is that we are starting our family now!

WHY ARE WE ADOPTING?
When most people find out we’re adopting, as two newlyweds, they question, ‘why?’ Our answer is, ‘why not?!’ Adoption isn’t just our first choice for starting a family, it’s the right choice for us. We have the desire to create a family with children and there are so many children who need a family to call their own. Our child is born in our hearts and no matter how we become a family it is OUR family!

FROM WHERE?
India has a special place in our relationship because it is one of the reasons why we fell in love. Shortly after we met, Sarah moved to India for 6 months to work with children with special needs. As our relationship grew via Skype and we shared about the challenges and changes we were facing in our separate lives. We realized that we were connected because of the values that had lead Sarah to India; how the children she lived and worked with needed forever homes and how we wanted to create a forever home together as a couple with a child from India. A year after Sarah returned to Canada, we married and started our journey together.

FUNDING
We are raising finances toward the costs of our adoption. Our goal is to be fully funded by the end of August 2017.
