Action for ME : Edinburgh Marathon

Tax deductible
This year is the 10 year anniversary of my sister being ill with chronic fatigue. This is the year I choose to use my body to raise awareness for something that has impacted my sisters whole childhood and my family so deeply!! Chronic fatigue/ME has had a devastating impact on my whole family for the last 10 years. My sister has had ME since she was 13! ME has resulted in a rollercoaster childhood for my sister been in and out of hospital, unable to go to mainstream schools and has had a detrimental impact on her adolescent years followed by early adulthood navigating life in a wheelchair at 23! Despite endless referrals and doctors appointments there has yet to be any pain management or cure nor answers/reassurance that things will get better. Despite all the challenges and barriers cerys has had to face she is still thriving! I am so so proud of cerys and I hope putting my body through pain to hopefully try to raise money to fund research that will result in better pain management or even a cure for this crippling disease. There are so many stories like cerys’ and our families and I just hope one day the answers are found. Please support me in running the Edinburgh marathon on the 26th of may in honour of cerys drive and determination to live a normal life despite ME! I also will be running the Sheffield half marathon on the 7th of April (which I think I’m more scared of!!) The aim is that the money I raised will go towards research that makes a difference. It breaks my heart that there is no answers available today as there is such little knowledge around the disease and a cure. May the pain I go through on this journey for this challenge mean one day cerys has a pain free day
