Hello everyone. My name is Marissa, I am fundraising this on behalf of Mai and her mother Roba Albhaisi.

We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea to support a family in Palestine who is facing an unimaginable crisis. Due to the ongoing conflict and severe humanitarian conditions, they are in urgent need of assistance to escape the area and find safety.

The Situation:

I am Mai , 9 years old, living with my family which consists of just me and my mother. Yes, just my mother and I, as my dear father (shown below) left this world early and left us alone.

I love playing, drawing, life, and I love my school too, but this war has deprived me of everything I love and of all my rights as a child. Although I only have my mother as a real family member, I live with a large family, my grandfather’s family on my mother’s side, which consists of 9 members.

I hope my life will improve, and that I can rebuild what the war has destroyed in and around us. Your contributions will undoubtedly make a difference. I have spent 9 months in this brutal war, which is almost a tenth of my life, far away from my life before the war. At the age of ten, I have experienced all kinds of fear, hunger, and loss, but I always have hope that I will return to my life one day. I will return to visit the clean Gaza sea and its clear sky.

We have all tasted the horrors of this war from day one, but despite that, I try to make myself and the children around me happy with the simple initiatives I do and share with you through my Instagram page (@mai.albhaisi). I hope you support me so that I can continue and expand my initiatives. I love you all. May you and Gaza remain well.

Our Goal:

We aim to start off with $12,000 to help cover the costs of safe transportation out of the conflict zone.

How the Funds Will Be Used:

Transportation: Securing safe passage out of the conflict area.

Relocation Assistance: Helping the family start anew in a safer environment.

It costs $5000 for each person to get out of Palestine to Egypt. The remaining funds will cover the costs of the wire fee, Gofundme fee and any basic needs.
