ACS ( Aiding The Cessation of Suffering )

ACS - Aiding the Cessation of Suffering is a project we started in order to help those less fortunate in the world. It evolved from being in direct contact with the local families here in Nicaragua. With the help of some key members of the community we were able to identify what it is that is really needed.
As we are living here, the first stage is aimed at helping 3 local communities in the south of Nicaragua: Escamequita, Ojo del Agua & Las Parcelas. We have found out that the main challenges in these areas are access to clean water, sanitary systems and poor housing conditions.
We decided to start with providing water filters for the families lacking clean drinking water. Most families in the areas have access to running water coming from a communal or a private well but it is not clean, causing a multitude of serious health issues.
By donating just $27 you can help a family of up to five people by providing them with a filter that they can use to clean the impurities from the dirty well water. These filters can last up to 3 years if maintained properly.
Stage 1 ) We were able to buy 30 filters with our own personal funding.
Stage 2 ) We were able to buy another another 60 with the help of our friends and family.
We have been able to help 90 families so far in these three communities. However, there are 262 homes here so we need more help.
Stage 3 ) There are 172 homes left and we would like to be able to provide ALL the homes here with a water filter, so this is where we need YOU !!!!!
Future projects also consider sanitary systems and materials to repair roofs in these communities. Dig deep ladies and gents! What may seem small and insignificant to some of us can CHANGE LIVES for others!
