I've decided to go against my grain while also practicing what I preach. I tell my son, Levi, that if he ever needs help with anything, he should ask someone he trusts, and there's no one I trust more than the friends I've made throughout my life.

It's no secret what this last year has been about for me.  With the help of a couple of my closest friends (and the moral support of many of you), I have faced the abrupt dissolution of a family, alienation from the lives of two children, a walk through the family court system to correct the alienation from my own child, the gutting of a family household, and the total upheaval of every aspect of my life.  By grace alone, I've managed to reestablish a household, quickly prevent further interference in the relationship I have with my son, and singularly carrying the financial strain of it all. 

I'm proud to have managed largely on my own thus far, but find myself needing help to get across the finish line. Truth be told, when this all started, I had absolutely no idea how I was going to pull off the financial burden of moving while simultaneously suing for custody of my son.  And until just recently, I did it...somehow. At this point, I'm looking for help with my remaining legal fees and have started a GoFundMe site for this purpose. It's humbling to reach out in this manner, but for the sake of everything I've accomplished, I'd be wrong not to try and I'd also be a poor example of my own parenting.

It's hard to be so close, but know that I won't be able to make it just the small distance further if I don't ask for help.  What makes it easier is the hope that those who know me also know that any generosity will absolutely be paid forward! I just need a little help getting across the finish line.  Please accept my sincerest and humble gratitude, and know that any contribution will help to maintain a small amount of security for myself, Levi, and our new lives!  Thank you!!
