Roll to the Polls – Support Free Rides to Polling Locations in San Juan County on Election Day
 
Transportation obstacles shouldn’t prevent anyone from making their voice heard on election day — and Lou Go’s in Farmington, NM is helping those most in need of a safe, reliable ride, with a free ride to and from polling stations on election day.  
Lou Go’s Taxi strives to serve those most in need of transportation, especially those in underserved communities affected by low incomes and epidemic poverty. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to vote on election day.

Why free rides? 
In 2016, 14% of nationwide eligible voters noted that transportation was a barrier to voting, and in a recent survey by our local transportation planning organization, 14% of participants noted alternative transportation (not having their own vehicle) as a factor in their transportation needs. 

With free rides to the polls, we hope to open the polls to everyone, not just those who have their own cars. 

How can you help! 
A simple donation can help brighten up someone’s day. Imagine needing a ride to the polls and discovering that your ride has already been paid for or not stressing about how you’re going to get to the polling locations? With our Roll to the Polls initiative, those needing rides to voting location don’t need to worry about how they’re going to pay for their ride.

• A $20 donation can fund multiple rides to the polls
• $100 donation can fund an entire neighborhood’s rides to the polls
• Even a small donation of $5 can fund one ride to a polling location

100% of donations will be used toward funding rides to and from polling locations on November 3rd. Excess funds will go to our [name of special initiative to help those in need – i.e. Sponsor a Senior] 

Help us share 
We’re underway on our plans to help as many people “Roll to the Polls” with free rides to polling locations or voting drop-boxes. We need your help to help us spread the work and to help fund this initiative.  

What and who is Lou Go’s? 
Founded by Capacity Builders, Inc., Lou Go’s is a 501(c)3 that helps raise awareness for DWI prevention and is helping the local community stay safe on their travels with reliable drivers who undergo rigorous driver evaluations. To prove Lou Go’s commitment to DWI prevention, Lou Go’s actively promotes safe transportation for patrons in San Juan County, New Mexico.
