A Baby For Dom & Ant!

Donation protected

We’re ready to be dads. And like most parents (and parents-to-be) out there, we’ve always imagined our lives intersecting in a world where we would have so much love for one another, that we’d want to make our tiny family a little bit bigger.

And we’ve decided to take that leap together, with all of you.

Dom Says: It’s not all about the money, um, except when it is. Look, Anthony works in sales, we get it. To make money, you have to talk about money. But this isn’t going to be like a yard sale; there’s no haggling here. We’ve experienced the punch in our collective belly that comes when the adoption agency reviewed the fee schedule.  As much as we wish it, babies just don’t come in installments of $9.99 a month.  And even though Toy ‘R Us sells toys, the same is not true for Babies ‘R Us.  Trust us, we’ve asked.

Anthony Says: We met almost ten years ago, moved in together in 2008, and married in 2012.  Dom’s a teacher, the hardest worker I know, doing one of the most important jobs I can think of.  He holds the promise of tomorrow in his classroom, and works hard to get past the glazed-eyes and iApathy of a post-millennial generation’s need for instant gratification.  Dom teaches students the same way we were taught, thanklessly and tirelessly.  He’s a good, good man, and apart from the kitchen, where Dom is the only one of us who can leave the space without fire alarms being set off, ours is a partnership that is probably like many of yours.

Dom Says: My husband Anthony is one of the most dedicated and creative people I know. He was raised in a small town in Upstate New York, and from a very young age, he was able to recognize that it takes a village to raise a child; he knew every postman, lunch lady, and school secretary by first name. I mean, he still sends flowers to his high school secretary on Administrative Professionals Day every year, and he’s been out of high school for over a decade! He has taught me to slow down and be more grateful to the people that perform the mundane, but ultimately powerful duties that make our lives better. I love that he will teach our children the same important life skills. Our future child will be a better human being with this amazing man as his father.

So yes, it’s clear that we think we’d be pretty awesome dads.  But here’s where it becomes about you.  We’re asking for your support to start our family.  Give what you can, share our GoFundMe link everywhere you can imagine, and help us create a world where love is the only thing that defines a family.  It’s not often you get to give the gift of parenthood to someone else, and we’d love to have our future child’s life filled with love and support from the very beginning, starting now.

If it takes a village to raise a child, would you be ours?
