My Peace Corps Service in Lesotho

Since I was 16 I have been working towards one goal and one dream: joining the Peace Corps. That dream will come true for me on October 8th of this year. I have always had a very simple passion, and that is to help others. On a more complex and difficult level, I want to spend the rest of my life developing sustainable living environments for people who live in extreme poverty. That being said, I cannot hope to change the circumstances of another without first being changed. That is one of the main reasons why I have chosen to spend the next 27 months of my life in Lesotho as a primary educator and mentor, working on youth development, and implementing HIV/AIDS awareness programs. Because I know that more than anything else, the challenges and experiences I will go through will shape me into a stronger, smarter and more compassionate individual, so that upon my return, I can continue to make a change for the better. Here is where I ask for your help. I am hoping to raise enough money to sustain me for the next two years in the event unforseen complications arise at home or while I am in Africa. I will be living off a small monthly stipend, which will be enough to get me by in my rural community. Anything you have to offer, pocket change, floorboard change...anything will help. I am a recent graduate of Texas A&M University with big dreams, restless legs, my whole heart to give, but, unfortunately, an empty wallet. Every cent I raise through your donations will go directly towards my savings for Africa.
