A young mom’s cancer battle

I have tried all day guys to write something, anything. Trying to get this fundraiser up and going. I’m numb. I’m heartbroken. Selfishly, I never in my wildest thoughts ever imagined this story would be about my child, my baby, my mini me. It is with sadness and heartache that we as a family are once again asking for financial support. As many of you know our 25 year old daughter Tessa is fighting Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma (ACC) ACC is a very rare and aggressive cancer that is diagnosed in 1-2 people per million. Tessa is a daughter, the second born of all her siblings. She’s an amazing mom of a 4 year old and a 2 year old. Tessa is the wife of her forever love Joshua and they just recently celebrated three years of marriage. Tessa’s recent MRI on 1-3-23, revealed more tumors than what she had just two weeks ago. This means her cancer is on the move, again…..not the news we were expecting. To say this has knocked us down isn’t even close to how we are feeling. It’s indescribable the fear, the pain, the darkness that suffocates you when you allow yourself to think too long. Tessa had day two of chemotherapy this morning and had an anaphylactic reaction and treatment was urgently stopped. The outstanding nurses were able to get her stable, and pharmacy was able to make her up something in place of that drug and she was restarted. We still have no idea how long she will continue with her treatment as it will depend on these tumors respond to the chemotherapy cocktail. *Once again this young family is faced with financial hardship. Joshua is the sole financial supporter of the family and caretaker of Tessa. Although his employer is gracious with time off, he still needs a paycheck. He is often stuck between staying home and helping his young wife endure this faceless killer, or go to work in order to pay for the poison that keeps her alive.
