A Very Potato Christmas

Hi! My name is Molly and I run the Cats of Yore accounts on twitter, instagram, and tumblr. I live in Vermont with my two wonderful cats, Fergus and Francie. They are the center of my life, my inspiration and my heart. It is truly a joy to wake up and see them every day. Like many adopted animals they had a rough beginning in life, but thanks to the shelters that rescued them they are vibrant, loving, happy potato bears today!

Cats are magical creatures and every single one of them deserves a loving home. We're very fortunate to have a great shelter serving the cats of our community, the Humane Society of Chittenden County. They help not only local animals but also regular transports from high-volume rescues in other states. I have adopted from them and volunteered there, so I've seen firsthand the quality of care they provide. One issue especially close to my heart is a feline virus called FIV which Fergus and Francie both have. FIV cats are sadly left behind, refused, or even put down at some shelters due to outdated myths. At HSCC these special cats are treated with the respect and kindness they deserve.

So this is why I'm raising funds for HSCC this holiday season! It won't only be for cats, it's for their general fund to help all the animals who enter their doors - cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and more! I know times are tough with cost of living increases, so please don't feel bad if you can only give a few bucks. Every little bit helps, truly.

P.S. Two important things to know about my fundraisers is that I always pitch in the fees that Go Fund Me takes out so the shelter gets the FULL amount donated, and I'm meticulous about providing proof that they received every penny.
