My name is Alicia Garner, and I am blessed to be the mother of two wonderful daughters and the grandmother of four amazing grandchildren. Due to economic and health challenges, we have come together under one roof to support one another through life's hardships.

As the primary caregiver for my grandchildren, my days are filled with helping them get ready for school, picking them up in the afternoons, assisting with homework, managing household responsibilities, and preparing them for the next day. I also make it a priority to ensure they remain active in our church and connected to a positive, faith-based community.

While caring for my family brings me tremendous joy and purpose, I am also living with serious health conditions that have limited my ability to earn income. In addition, one of my daughters is battling health issues that prevent her from maintaining employment, and she also depends on me for transportation to medical appointments and essential care. My other daughter works two jobs to provide for her family, making my role as caregiver even more critical to our household's stability.

Today, our greatest challenge is transportation.

My vehicle, a 2003 model that has faithfully served our family for several years, now requires a transmission replacement costing more than $3,000 (*see estimate, swipe attached photos), along with several additional repairs and four new tires to become safe and reliable. Unfortunately, these costs are far beyond what our family can afford. Although I have applied to local nonprofit programs that provide donated vehicles, the waiting lists are estimated to be as long as two years.

Without dependable transportation, our family faces adverse and life-altering consequences. My grandchildren's school transportation and activities, my daughter's ability to maintain employment, our medical appointments, and many everyday responsibilities would be severely impacted.

That is why we were encouraged to reach out for help.

Our goal is to raise enough funds to provide the Garner family with a reliable used vehicle at no cost to their family, including the purchase price, taxes, registration, and related expenses. A dependable vehicle would allow Ms. Garner to continue caring for her grandchildren, supporting her daughters, and attending critical medical appointments.
