A struggling single mum seeking temporary relief.

Hello, I am a single mum with a daughter. I’m really in a difficult place of financial hardship and just looking for some help to ride through this stressful time. Since losing my job just before Christmas I’ve been struggling with increased rental costs, illness and keeping all the mounting bills, including utilities and educational expenses, at bay. Such a bad time to lose a job. I’ve been applying for lots of jobs since then but even though I have many years valuable experience I’m not being offered an opportunity. This morning I’ve been threatened with a Notice to Vacate from the real estate agency. It’s heart-breaking - how can I provide security and sanctuary for my child with the constant threat of eviction looming over us? My landlord advised of an 11% rent increase and is unwilling to negotiate - even knowing my circumstances. I’m gutted we live in a society so greedy and quick to condemn others in less comfortable circumstances. How am I going to manage? I’m doing all I can to apply for jobs whilst supporting my daughter and protecting her as much as I can from the impact of poverty whilst juggling all the other priorities I am now contending with. I can’t even afford to put petrol in my car to visit my elderly parent recently injured in an accident. I just need some help during this particularly difficult period as I ride out this storm whilst I’m trying to get a job.
