Hello, my name is Yasmine Taylor. I’m a 23-year-old graduating senior at Winston-Salem State University, earning my B.S. in Rehabilitation Studies with a minor in Psychology.
Both of my parents are deceased, and I’ve had very limited support throughout college. I experienced homelessness due to unsafe environments in the past, and I’ve been figuring things out as I go while trying to stay focused on my education. Campus housing became my only safe and stable place to stay.
As I prepare to graduate on December 12th, I’m facing an urgent situation: I must move out by December 13th at noon, and I have nowhere to go.
I got my ESA (Emotional-Support Animal- Cat) after my mother passed, and she has been my family and comfort through every transition; especially while navigating homelessness. My goal is to secure safe housing for both of us as I move towards starting my career helping others in the rehabilitation field.
Any contribution will directly help me avoid returning to homelessness and give me a stable foundation for this next chapter. I am truly grateful for every bit of support, and I look forward to being able to help someone else one day just as others are helping me now.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
