A Fundraiser for Skylar

Recently, my nephew Anthony and his wife Olivia took their precious daughter Skylar to a doctor for genetic testing .   The results were not what they expected.


For those of you who know baby Skylar, she is truly a beautiful and happy baby.   Her laugh is contagious and her smile lights up a room!  What she doesn't know,  and what her parents just discovered, is that she has Angelman Syndrome, a rare neuro-genetic disorder that occurs in 1 in 15,000 live births, and will require life-long care. 


There is no cure for Angelman Syndrome.  Skylar's treatment will focus on managing medical and developmental issues.  Thus, she will need physical therapy, communication and behavioral therapy, as well as medication for potential seizures as she grows.


For those who know Anthony and Olivia, they are selfless, giving individuals.  Anthony has served and protected our country doing tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Olivia is an elementary school  teacher shaping children's lives.  They are modest people who will do anything for their friends and family, and would be the last people to ask anyone for help.

Our goal is to help Anthony and Olivia in taking care of Skylar as she continues her fight with Angelman Syndrome. Every cent you choose to graciously donate will be used to help Skylar with her medical expenses.
We've set up this fund, to help alleviate the costs of this heartbreaking and life-changing event. 

All money raised will be given to Anthony and Olivia to help their young family face the bills that come with Skylar's treatment as well as future unanticipated costs that will come. Amidst the worry of Skylar's care, we hope they won't have to worry about the money.
