A Safe Space for Max and Dexter!

Donation protected
The following was written by Max's Dad, Will:

"It's hard to feel safe when you have Autism.

Public spaces can be really overwhelming. It works like this: when neurotypical people go into a big, loud, brightly lit space, they can block out everything that isn't important and focus on one thing at a time. People with Autism can't block out the noise or the lights or the commotion. They experience it all at full blast all the time.

For Max this can quickly become overwhelming. It's hard for him to feel safe when we go out of the house. But when we're out as a family Max has always had a safe space in his stroller. It's a kind of mobile cocoon that wraps him up in safe feelings.

The problem that we have now is that Max is just way too big for his current stroller. We need something that meets his needs and that will continue to meet his needs for years to come. We've found the perfect stroller that will last him until he's at least 12 years old, probably longer. But it's a bit pricey for two public school teachers. That's where we need your help.

Please help Max find a new safe place in the world."

This is the link to the stroller the Strongs are hoping to purchase for Max:

They would love to have the stroller before they travel at Thanksgiving.
