A Safe Ride for Morgan — Wheelchair Van Fundraiser

Hi, I’m Natalie, and I’m raising funds to purchase a used, wheelchair-accessible van for my daughter Morgan — lovingly known as Pie.

Morgan has Phelan‑McDermid syndrome (PMS), a rare neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a missing piece of chromosome 22. It affects many parts of her body and brings a wide range of complex medical needs. Morgan has developmental delays, intellectual disability, hypotonia (low muscle tone), and is nonverbal, with autistic traits that impact how she communicates and connects with the world.

She also has physical disabilities and is feeding tube dependent. In addition, she is oxygen dependent at times, and her oxygen levels need to be monitored daily. These combined needs make safe and accessible transportation absolutely essential for her care and quality of life.

Right now, we’re using a regular car, but Morgan has outgrown it. Lifting and transferring her — along with her wheelchair and medical equipment — has become too difficult and unsafe for both of us.

We’re hoping to raise $45,000 to purchase a used wheelchair-accessible van that can meet her needs. We’re not asking for a new vehicle — just something reliable, safe, and modified to handle her wheelchair and equipment. It’s overwhelming how costly these vehicles are, even when looking at used options

Unfortunately, there are no assistance programs in Florida to help families like ours with accessible transportation, so we’re asking for support from our community.
