Gracious & hardworking Summit lady needs help

Fran Moore Banks, aged 68 and a cancer survivor defines the word selfless.

Fran’s family has been part of the Summit Community for almost 100 years.  After losing her brother, Fran adopted his three special needs children and raised them as her own.  Two of them are now in college and the youngest teenager is still living with Fran.

Fran’s Mom died of cancer and her father, Lonnie Banks, a WW II Navy Veteran,  exhausted his savings and the equity in his Summit home trying to save her.  When Lonnie died, recently, Fran inherited the heavily indebted family home, which she is about to lose to foreclosure and she will be in need of a new home.

A combination of unpaid funeral expenses for her Dad, moving company expenses and fresh start capital needs will total about $15,000. The Other Fellow First Foundation and the Helping Hands Initiative from Central Presbyterian Church are collaborating to help Fran with this financial objective.  Both organizations focus on the need to emphasize unity in the word community and invite others in the community to join us in helping Fran.
