A new support dog for Alfie

Hello, my name is Sue and I'm fundraising on behalf of my son for a new assistance dog.

Alfie is 7 and he has autism. He also suffers with crippling anxiety.

18 months ago, I started on a journey to get Alfie an assistance dog. I believed that would be our only option to 'save' him. We paid for the most beautiful dog but sadly she had to be retired recently due to elbow problems.

She did change his life. Alfie was able to sleep in his own room, on his own. He could go outside easier and he eventually managed to control the need to collect items like sticks when he did go out. When he felt down or scared she was there to lick his face, to ground him, to give him strength and to be non judgemental. She even helped him to travel in the car.

Six months ago, after 18 months out of education, with the help of his dog Alfie was able to successfully start at a new school. He could manage his emotions easier, we did not see the extreme highs and lows, the low self esteem and his violent meltdowns stopped. He was a happy boy.

Alfie is now really struggling, we need your help to share his story and help us reach our target so that we can purchase a new dog, we need to do this as quickly as possible.

He now finds it difficult to sleep and can't sleep in his own room. His self esteem is rock bottom, he is incredibly hard on himself. His emotions of extreme highs and lows are back. He hates himself.

We've seen how a dog can change his life, please help us save our 7 year old again.
