Hi everyone,

My name is Keefe Ismael, and I am a Filipino-American musician born and raised in the Bay Area. Thank you so much for your interest in this benefit recital entitled "A New Age". This recital is a celebration of my time in the Bay Area before I move to Denver, but it is also a recital dedicated to supporting two organizations fighting for causes I deeply believe in - HEAL Palestine and RAINN.

Anyone who has followed me on social media over the past nine months knows that the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people is an atrocity that I denounce at every level. In addition, also occurring over the past few months is an unmasking of the horrible culture of sexual assault that is being enacted in the classical music world. In particular, female and gender non-conforming artists are being targeted in brass sections.

As much as this recital tells my own story, it is my hope that collecting donations for HEAL Palestine and RAINN helps heal the survivors of these dehumanizing atrocities so that one day they may also get a chance to tell theirs. No matter how much Western history tries to marginalize non-white and non-male voices, it is through our collective elevation of each other that our stories will never be forgotten.

(Donations will be split 50/50 between the two organizations.)
