A Little for Littell-Lord Restoration

Donation protected
We need to raise $5,000 by April 15, 2024 to help us qualify for a historic restoration grant. The foundation work is underway and now we are working on funding for the exterior restoration work.

The Berkeley Heights Historic Preservation Committee is conducting a fundraiser to preserve the Littell-Lord Farmstead. The firm, Connolly & Hickey Historic Architects, is overseeing the project. But we can't do it without the support of our community; we need YOUR help!

Littell-Lord Farmhouse was built around 1760 by farmer and weaver Andrew Littell, who lived there with his wife and seven children. It was passed down through the Littell family until it was sold to the Lord family in 1867. Elizabeth Wemett of the Lord family sold the property to Berkeley Heights in 1975. The property is was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 7, 1979. It houses the Farmhouse Museum of the Berkeley Heights Historical Society, which is currently closed until the house structure is improved. All money raised will be deposited into the Littel-Lord Trust, which is used only for the restoration work of the property, and related activities.

Help us preserve our town’s most historic treasure!
