Coming Home ... to Philosophy

Hi There!

We are the School of Philosophy, Brisbane. Some of you may already know us. We have been operating in Brisbane for over 30 years and have impacted the lives of hundreds of students - you may be one of them.

During this time we have occupied several wonderful buildings (and one or two not so wonderful). It has been a great time marked by both challenges and positive growth for all of us.

We are a totally volunteer driven, not for profit organisation, and rely entirely on the good will of our students for the administration and running of the school. Including, all of the tutoring and other group activities that form the core of our service to the community.

Currently, we occupy a lovely building on the same property as the historic Church Of Christ Chapel, adjacent to the Suncorp Stadium in Milton, Brisbane.

While this current address has its charm it also has provided many logistic challenges in coordinating with the activities of the Stadium next door... Rock concerts, parking and football games, to name a few.

Also, in the short time we have been here we have thrived in numbers and have now reached a point where the building is no longer large enough for us to hold all the classes we would like to offer. We're bursting at the seams, as it were, and the activity next door in Suncorp Stadium is increasing daily adding to the realisation that we need a new home.

Therefore, we have decided to embark on a project to buy a permanent base for our activities.

But we need help. Your help!

We need to raise a deposit to allow us to buy this new home.
