Hello, my name is Chelsea.

It is with the deepest sorrow and a profound sense of loss that I write this.

My beautiful niece, Esmè, a true warrior who, at just 10 years old, has gained her angel wings. She has finally been released from a near decade-long fight.

​Esmè was a bright, resilient, and beautiful soul who, tragically, fell extremely ill before her first birthday. From that day on, her life was an unimaginable struggle, marked by countless hospital stays, invasive treatments, and an unyielding physical battle. Despite the severe disabilities and chronic illness that plagued her young life, she fought with the fierce spirit of a lioness. She was the definition of strength, courage, and pure, unconditional love.

​For 10 years, Esmè was held tightly by the love of her amazing mother (my sister), her wonderful nani (my mum), myself and many more. Her Mummy, in particular, has devoted every moment to caring for her, advocating for her, and ensuring she knew nothing but love and comfort. Esmè's journey was long and incredibly painful, and while our hearts are shattered, we take a small comfort in knowing she is finally at peace and free from pain.

​Esmè is our hero. She is now resting peacefully after her final, greatest fight.
