A Girl in The Shadows: A Horror Short Film

 

---Hello, my name is Jorge Miranda; if you've seen the campaign video, then you know that

I am a small independent filmmaker looking to raise money for my next Horror project, A Girl in the Shadows. After the tragic death of a close relative, Harper, lost and unsure of what to do with herself, escapes to an old family cabin in the woods. She finds a lot more than she bargained for when a mysterious stranger turns her darkest fears into a cold reality.

---This will be the second film I've done, the last being WITHIN, a small no-budget horror strong enough to win over 20 plus awards from across the globe. However, with this new project, I'm looking to move forward and improve upon that initial milestone. A Girl in the Shadows will strive to be everything that made WITHIN great while also being so much more! We will go even further, telling a very human story that will be almost entirely character-driven!

I've never believed in creating a film without meaning or purpose; for me, this story is deeply personal on several emotional levels. It's a story I will be proud to tell.

---Creating a horror film from scratch is no easy task, even for a film as small as this. It took several months of planning and preparation to get to this point here. So far, we have the script, several storyboards, the exact location, actors, and the composer. After this comes one of the single most important steps to get this project up and running, crowdfunding; without this, the project will still be created, but it'll be stuck in its cocoon phase, never genuinely reaching its full potential.

---OUR GOAL; Everyone working on this film is working on it because they fully believe in telling this story; they are incredibly passionate and hard-working, as am I. That said, I'd really hope you'd consider giving this film a shot! We are hoping to raise $1700, and this will be for travel fees, props, wardrobe, and lighting equipment! If you decide it's worth your time, I can guarantee that every dollar donated will go toward the overall betterment of the project. And as I stated in the video, the small chance that there is a remainder of money left over by the end of production, the rest will be donated to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. This is a promise, one that I hold to heart. Filmmaking, for me, isn't about the money; it's about making art that's meaningful.
