A Fresh New Beginning For Us

Hello, my name is Elsa and this is my son Azazel. I moved to the Netherlands 6 years ago...Sadly, from the start my luck here has not been very good. A lung infection, pneumonia, kindey infection, then a suprise pregnancy!

I was terrified, but thrilled when I found out I would be having a child. But as my luck would have it so far, I was quickly diagnosed with a severe case of Hypermesis Gravidarum. At only 14 weeks I was vomiting more than 40 times in a day. Blood, bile, pieces of my throat. So severe that I tore the ligament that held my uterus to the right side of my body and I was hospitalised for the first time. After that I was placed on bed and pelvic rest for the remainder of what would be a very long, sad, and emotionally and mentally neglected pregnancy.

Things never improved with my partner, but thankfully my health did begin to recover and my beautiful Azazel was in my arms. He also did not have very good luck, as he only gained a single Kilogram in his first 5 months of life and was diagnosed failure to thrive. We had so many hospital appointments, so many procedures and blood draws and tests.... But he began to recover and is now a very healthy and rambunctious 4,5 year old!

When Corona hit the Netherlands it not only devestated the greater economy but also the business I owned. Sadly it is simply not salvageable, but finally my son and I have managed to get away from the toxic relationship we were trapped in, however along with that any and all financial stability (however fragile) was also lost.

Though this GoFundMe is a year old, the donations helped me provide food and clothing for me son while we managed to get through the last toxicity of my previous relationship.

Now we have finally gotten to a semi-stable place. Living in a hotel partly subsidized by the Gemeente Den Haag. My son is set to start school any day now, I start a new job as soon as he can go to school, and I am hoping to apply to go back to university next year and finish my degree.

Every little bit helps in providing a (temporary ♥️) financial cushion for my son and I until we can go into our own home and my income becomes more stable and predictable. We will also be (hopefully in the next 3 months) trying to set up a new home, as we currently have very few possessions and no furniture.

I have never been the type to enjoy putting my person business out there for the world. I have a lot of pride and I dislike asking for help. But my son is the most important person in my life. His safety and well-being and happiness are my priority always, and I will gladly lay down my pride to bare my soul if it means I can provide comfort and stability to my son.
