In Loving Memory of Jerry (Jay) Albright

On Wednesday, May 14th, Jay was found in his home after his daughters became increasingly worried when they hadn’t heard from him. A wellness check by the police confirmed our worst fears.

Jays life wasn’t always easy—he battled his share of demons—but in his final years, he found light, love, and purpose in the people around him. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Whether cheering from the sidelines at his grandson's sports games, attending church with loved ones, attending concerts with his best buds, or cracking one of his famously corny “dad jokes” (he may very well have invented the first dad joke), Jerry brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.

He had a rare gift for friendship—many of his closest companions had been by his side since childhood. That kind of loyalty speaks volumes about the kind of man he was: a loyal, funny, and big-hearted soul who made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

We’re still waiting for more information about his passing, and the details of the service are still being arranged. But we know that honoring his life in a meaningful way is important—not just for our family, but for the many people who loved him.
