A Film&Stage Play: SHOOTING MYSELF IN THE KNEECAP
Spende geschützt
Hi!
My name is Zach.
I am a writer, director, and actor from New York City by way of Chicago but now residing in Los Angeles. I've always been drawn to creating pieces that reflect the world we live in. That world is complex and impossible to distill into a few paragraphs on this website.
In America these days, there is a lot of division. We encounter ever-growing stimuli from technology daily. And the battle for mental health can be leveraged by how much news and content we consume. Or can manage.
But the underlying feeling is that we are all connected in many ways - a plethora of them positive - which sometimes, we need to be reminded of.
And the cast and crew behind the new play & movie: SHOOTING MYSELF IN THE KNEECAP believe that.
But more importantly, the characters in this dark comedy on stage and film reflect that same notion.
In this one-person show, you'll meet thirteen different people from all walks of life - everyone from an executive, to a car thief, to an influencer, to a person in therapy...to even the nagging voice in your head.
We have gathered a small but diverse and passionate team behind 'KNEECAP' who has been shepherding this script and bringing this show to life for over a year. We think this is the type of theatre that makes you lean forward - it's edgy. a little dangerous, and full of moments where you might be unsure whether you should be laughing...or crying.
And we are thrilled to debut this show at Hollywood's Hudson Theatre in September 2023. In addition, we are intent on making a movie version that can be enjoyed by audiences everywhere.
However, making an original show of this magnitude requires support. We are reaching out to you here so we can share this exciting new work with a community that deserves a high caliber of art. The funds raised will alleviate the following:
Theatre Rental for Performances/Filming - $2,500
Marketing/Social Media - $2,000
Videography - $1,000
Technical Design and Operation - $1,500
Photography/Printed Collateral - $500
Costumes/Props - $500
The future of 'KNEECAP' is in your hands - after our initial premiere at the Hudson, we hope to remount the show for future audiences at festivals and larger stages. Filming and editing the movie will take dedicated professionals who will need to be compensated fairly for their time and craft. And we will march forward with this journey, intent on creating something we feel is special and worth everyone's time.
We hope to see you at The Hudson in person for a live performance but if not, we are making it our mission to share this new work with you in one way or another.
